Jenn called.

“Kevin, are you in tomorrow, I’ll be in the area and need a couple of things for Storm.”

“Sure… name the time.”

Now Jenn’s a good one — loves her Shep, Storm, and talks like it’s an Olympic sport. They’ve had their bed for 4–5 years — just needed a fresh mat.

Easy.

Promptly on time, Jenn was there.

She took one look at the Chew Crew range and she couldn’t help herself.

She happily scooped up:

• Giant ball (10cm)
• A Squeaker Ball
• A regular large ball

With that, I tossed in a Squishy Soccer Ball (14cm) for her to trial.

“WOW… Really?”

“Yeah, go on…”

I know Jenn sends people our way — so I just wanted to say thanks.

Next morning, messages start pinging my phone, with photos…

“Storm loves the squishy!”

Then another…
“It’s his new favourite thing.”

And the next day, more photos…
“He’s obsessed.”

Turns out, Storm’s basically adopted the Squishy Ball.

Carries it everywhere.
Won’t let it out of reach.

He even sleeps with it tucked neatly under his paw.

The Part That Surprised Me

Best part…

He’s not destroyed it.

Here’s the honest bit…

When I bought that ball I thought they were solid…

Yes — the name “Squishy Soccer Ball” should have given it away,
but I must have been having “one of those” days.

I thought it was like the other Chew Crew Balls —
solid, bouncy and
you can squish them a bit — OK,
just a 14cm version…

Perfect, I thought, for the giant breeds.

Then I opened the box and they were…

well…

Ummm… squishy.

Oh…

Not confidence inspiring.

But hey — I was wrong.
Again!

Storm’s giving it his best and it’s holding up fine.

It’s doing what toys designed for chewing do.
Surviving… and giving great joy.

What This Means for Chewers

That’s the thing with dog toys…

Each dog’s got their own way of going at them.

Their own energy.
Their own level of destruction.

What works brilliantly for one dog…
might last five minutes with another.

You just don’t know till you know.

Turns out — this one’s a winner for Storm.
