Small – Chew Crew Dog Balls for Aggressive Chewers
We know it’s not the size of the dog in the fight… with their ball!!!
Want a Dog Ball that lasts more than a month?
We appreciate that:
- Dogs love to play ball – AND – They Love to chew.
- The Problem is… So many dogs destroy a Tennis ball in a matter of minutes.
About ETPU
Now we also know, that if we promoted, “We’re selling ETPU balls…” You’d go who cares – what’s that? Nobody wants an ETPU Ball…
Until you realise these are:
- Really long Lasting
- Safe for your dog
- Environmentally friendly
- Bouncy
- Floating
- They’re solid AND yet, still incredibly soft
- Designed for your dog to get their teeth into them, while still remaining intact
They Are NOT:
- About to come apart in 5 minutes
- Made of polystyrene (I know that’s what it looks like)
- Hard
- Brittle
- Made of nasty stuff
- Puncturable (if that’s really a word)
In short, Chew Crew Balls last a long time, and ball obsessed dogs love them!
We got Banned from the dog park – That’s how we found them
Well… Reo got banned actually. And maybe it was a self-imposed ban.
We’d go along and Jasper and Reo would love to join in all the doggy games. Particularly Chase the ball… Reo was obsessed!
Challenge was, once he had a ball – It was his! There was no safe way to remove it from his mouth. Tennis Balls – Punctured in a minute or two – Shredded and swallowed not long after. Chuckit Balls – Lasted a little longer… But once he had it – remove it from his mouth at the risk of losing a finger or three.
So, we developed a strategy – Bring one give one. Basically when Reo stole a ball, we would simply give the Pawrent a similar one, and remove Reo from the dog park, ball in mouth. All our fingers intact enabling us to drive home.
The embarrassment stopped us going back eventually.
That’s what started our search for a ball that Reo couldn’t put a hole in within 5 minutes.
And the Chew Crew balls are the results of that search.
How Do We Know they Last?
We put them for the Chew Crew Challenge: Your Dog Vs the Ball…
- All tennis balls were dead in minutes…
- 80% plus of the original Chew Crew asked… When are you releasing these!
- And that’s how they became ChewProof Approved

Why ETPU is Safe for Dog Toys
Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane (ETPU) is a tough, elastic material increasingly used in premium dog toys. Its closed-cell structure makes it lightweight, durable, and resistant to tearing, while still being gentler on teeth than very hard plastics. This means it offers a safer play option for strong chewers without the same risk of tooth fractures seen in ultra-rigid toys.
Veterinary experts emphasize that the safety of any toy depends on material quality, durability, and how it’s used. According to Preventive Vet, pet owners should look for toys made from non-toxic, durable materials and always supervise play. (ETPU fits this perfectly)
Similarly, Embark Veterinary stresses choosing toys of the right size and construction, and checking them regularly for wear.
A broader review of toy safety by independent researchers notes that most hazards come not from the base material itself, but from poor manufacturing standards, additives, or inadequate durability (HKMU Safety Review).
Bottom line: When made to high standards, ETPU toys combine durability with safety, reducing the risk of sharp fragments or tooth damage. As with any toy, supervision and regular inspection remain key to your dog’s wellbeing.
